A handful of Reapers made the trip up to Chicago this past weekend to compete in the ITU World Triathlon Series event in the Windy City.
Over 4000 athletes participated in the Sprint and Olympic Age Group races, while getting to watch some of the top triathletes in the world compete on the tight, urban course in the Elite Divisions.
Tim Auth, Erik Rankin, and Jason Sturdyvin completed the Olympic race with Sturdy posting the best time of 2:26:36 for 64th out of 202 in the 30-34 Age Group. The highlight for all three was the 4-loop bike course that took riders up Columbus Ave. and onto Lower Wacker Drive. The flat, closed course was yielding blazing times as all three set personal bests on the Olympic bike leg, led by Tim with a 59:49.
Brand new Reaper Mike Seeborg posted the top Age Group finish in the Sprint race finishing 6th of 11 in the 65-69 AG. Curtis Preston finished 13th overall in the 35-39AG and Lisa Kiley was 9th in the 50-54 AG.
