Grim Reaper, Fleet Feet Train Runners to We Care Success

For the the third time in 18 months, Grim Reaper Fitness and Fleet Feet Bloomington teamed up on Fleet Feet’s Half Marathon/10K training program.

The results – six personal bests, plus 14 first-time finishers of 23 participants at the We Care Twin Cities Half Marathon and 10K in Normal, Saturday, Sept. 27.

Fleet Feet puts on the program; Grim Reaper Fitness provides the training plans.

Krysta Kleinschmidt (2:00:56), Elizabeth Kurt (2:02:40), Scott Todd (2:07:44), and Tracy Ward (2:15:13) all set PRs in the half. While Angie DeBoer, Jane Camp, Julie Riggs, Leela Neti, Megan Thorson, Cindy Roberts, Megan Coleman, and Sarah Wales all completed their first half marathon. Of the first, timers Coleman had the top time, finishing at 1:59:19.

On the 10K side, Vicki Connell (1:13:25) and Jane Wolschlag (1:15:41) posted PRs. Connie Zehr, Jackie Lanier, Janet Morris, Sheila Snyder, Teri Bittle, and Vickie Kauffman all completed their first 10Ks. Morris had the best time of the newcomers, coming in at 1:07:35.
