
The Reapettes, competing in Racemaker Productions’ inaugural Border Wars 70.3 triathlon, took Grim Reaper Fitness’ highest place of the day Sunday in Alton, IL.
The Reapettes (Kelly Ruiter, Stephanie Heppe, and Wendy Smith) placed 2nd in the women’s relay with an overall time of 6:09:07. Kelly started off with a 39:08 in the 1.2 mile swim, followed by Stephanie posting a 3:19:07 on the 56-mile bike, and anchored by Wendy with a 2:08:17 in the 13.1-mile run.
Tim Auth cut off 18 minutes from his previous best time at the distance, finishing at 5:56:58 to take 3rd in Clydesdale category, while Erik Rankin was 4th in Aquabike (swim, bike).
Matt Cuttell ran GRF’s fastest race of the day, finishing at 5:20:03, good for 11th in the competitive men’s 30-34 Age Group.
Lisa Kiley and Tony Kerr completed their first 70.3 distance races. Lisa posted a strong 18.1 mph pace on the bike to finish at 6:20:41, while Tony came in at 8:16:45.
Pam Walden and Rhonda Heinz rounded out the Reaper cast with Pam finishing at 6:57:33 and Rhonda at 7:33:13.
