
Although triathlon season has largely wound down, Reapers were scattered all over competing this past weekend.
The best finish of the weekend belonged to Carey Weaver who won the 55-59 Age Group and placed 5th overall at the Fall Finale Duathlon at Tremont. Carey completed the 3 mile run/14.4 mile bike/1 mile run format in 1:08:23, a little more than 6 minutes behind the winner.
At the Heartland Harvest 5K in Normal, Jason Sturdyvin and Curtis Preston brought home Age Group awards. Jason was 2nd in the 30-34 AG, but 5th overall, while Curtis won the 35-39 AG and finished 14th overall.
Maria Widjaja and Anthony Moore fit an appearance at the Amsterdam Marathon in The Netherlands into their trip home to visit family. The couple ran together to finish at 6:04:30 for Maria’s first 26.2 finish and Anthony’s second. Anthony and Maria spent time leading up to the race with Maria’s family in The Netherlands before taking an overnight ferry across the North Sea to England to visit Anthony’s family.
Another first-timer, Cindy Termeunde, completed her first 10K at Springfield, coming in a 1:40:52.
