Pam Walden completes 1st Ironman

Another Reaper has ticked an Ironman competition off her bucket list.

Pam Walden traveled to Tempe, AZ, for Ironman Arizona and completed the competition in 16:05:31 on Sunday. Pam had a consistent race, finishing 106th of nearly 200 competitors in the women’s 45-49 Age Group.

She completed the swim in 1:42:17 and fell back in the pack a bit with a bike time of 8:07:29. During the run, however, she jumped 22 places in her AG with a time of 5:55:51.

“The day was simply amazing,” she said. “I had the time of my life out there.”

GRF-TrailTrek-Fall2014Back in frosty Illinois…

a handful of Reapers made the trip down to New Salem State Park outside Petersburg, IL, to compete in the Grim Reaper Fitness sponsored Abe’s Trail Trek.

Tri Harder Promotions offers a 5K Fun Run, a 10K, and a 15K on a course that’s sticks mostly to the woods of the park, but also comes through the pioneer village.

Race-time temperature was under 30 degrees, but Romanie Walter, the only Reaper in the 15K, captured the women’s 35-39 AG with a time of 1:24:21, a 9:04 pace.

In the 10K, Tim Auth won the Clydesdale division for the 2nd straight year, coming in at 55:22, an 8:56 pace, nearly 4 minutes faster than his 2013 time. Jodi Hari placed 3rd in women’s 45-49 with a time of 1:07:56, a 10:54 pace.

On the 5K, Robin Weissman led all Reapers with a 32:12 to capture 2nd place in women’s 20-29.
