Kudrys, Quinn complete Boston Marathon

Grim Reaper Fitness’ Celeste Kudrys and David Quinn completed the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Kudrys, paced by Quinn, completed the race in 3 hours, 42 minutes, and 9 seconds, for an 8:28 pace per mile, which placed her in the top 40% of the 12,300+ female finishers. Kudrys hit the halfway point of the race at 1:44:13 for a 7:56 pace. The winning time in her Age Group (18-39) was 2:24:55 by Kenyan Caroline Rotich, who was the overall women’s winner.
Quinn finished in 3:42:19.
The overall winner of the race was Ethiopian Lelisa Desisa, who won in 2013, as well. Desisa finished in 2:09:17.

Mussey takes 2nd in Age Group

Joe Mussey set a personal best en route to a 2nd-place finish in his age group Saturday at the MCStrong 5K Classic in Normal.

Mussey ran a 21:47, a PR for him, which was good for 19th overall in the field of 600+ and was 2nd in the 45-49 age group. It was his first race since completing his first Ironman distance (photo at top) triathlon in Madision, WI, last September.

On the women’s side, Julie Sibley ran a 23:38 to take 3rd in the 35-39 AG.

Jodi Hari and Curtis Preston also raced Saturday, with Hari taking 10th in 45-49 and Preston coming in 13th in 35-39.
