
Grim Reaper Fitness’ Kevin Tuuk set a men’s course record in winning the Lake Run Half Marathon, two more Reapers finished in the top 4, and yet two more won their divisions at Saturday’s races at Lake Bloomington.

Tuuk (pictured at right) ran a 1:27:33 – a 6:41 pace – while Jason Huber came in 2nd at 1:30:11 and Bryan Heppe (pictured above) placed 4th at 1:35:18. Huber, who ran the Illinois Marathon in Champaign the previous weekend, was the top male finisher at last year’s inaugural race in 1:27:52.
The 35-39 Age Group for the event was stacked as Huber won and Heppe was 3rd despite being 4th overall. Rick Vincent, who was 14th overall, was 5th in 35-39.
Damon Dusin won the Footpounders Lite (190-219) division in 1:44:02, a 7:56 pace, while Julie Sibley was 3rd in women’s 35-39 at 1:54:36.
Lynn Staley was the day’s other GRF winner as she won the 45-49 Age Group in the 4.37-mile (or inner loop) race. Lynn ran a 34:37 for a 7:55 pace. Wendy Smith, competing in 40-44, placed 2nd at 37:13.
