
PETERSBURG, IL – Six Reapers won their divisions Sunday at the muggy Stovepipe Sprint and Railsplitter Olympic Triathlons.
Riley Cate, Lily Matthews, Nancy Braun, Lisa Kiley, and Jori Cooper all won their divisions in the Stovepipe, while David Cate won the Clydesdale division in the Railsplitter.
Kiley had the best time of the women’s sprint winners, finishing in 1:27:27, to take the 55-59 division, while Braun was right behind to win 50-54 at 1:28:26.Matthews took 15-19 in 1:30:07, while Cate won the 14-and-under in 1:51:51. Cooper topped the Athena division in 1:31:16, while teammate Natalie McKee followed her in 2nd.
Erik Rankin had the club’s best sprint time, taking 3rd in 35-39 in 1:19:13. Mike Seeborg placed 2nd in 65-69 at 1:23:07.
Cate won the Clydesdale division of the Olympic distance race in 3:15:09. Kevin Tuuk had the club’s best time at 2:30:21 to place 3rd in 40-44, with Michael Braun right behind at 2:34:23 to take 2nd in 20-24, and Carey Weaver coming in at 2:37:13 to place 2nd in 55-59. Jessica Miner garnered 2nd place in 35-39 with a time of 3:02:33, and Kim Tegg was 3rd in 55-59 at 3:48:38.
