WOWS (Wednesday Night Open Water Swim)

Its almost that time of year again!

WOWS (Wednesday Night Open Water Swim) will start on May 17th at 5:00 pm and go till 6:30 pm at Miller Park. The beach is located just behind the zoo and swimmers can enter the parking lot off of Morris St.  It is open to anyone who wants to join us, Reaper or not! So bring a friend (as long as they can swim). The event is fully equipped with sighting buoys and certified lifeguards patrolling the water in kayaks. Early season water temperatures are cooler water temps, so you might want to bring your wet suit the first few weeks. Each swim night is only $5 per person, cash only. 11377228_785802888200835_2149661804247650332_n

Go to Wednesday Open Water Swim (WOWS) on Facebook and like the page so that you can get updates on cancellations. We monitor the weather throughout the day and try to make cancellations a couple hours ahead of time.

GRF members will soon clean up the beach and get it ready for open water swim season.

Can’t wait to see you all out there! This is a great opportunity to swim in your wetsuit, while getting comfortable in open water.
