
CHILLICOTHE – Isaac Goughnour was 2nd overall and five other Reapers recorded top-three finishes at the Tri2BeatMS Youth & Junior race here Saturday.
Goughnour won the 12-13 age group in a time of 11:11. His swim time of 26 seconds, which included the 25-yard swim and the run into the transition area was the fastest of the day. Lily Matthews, who set the course record in 2016, was the 2nd female finisher, winning the 14-15 age group in 12:21.
The event consisted of a 25-yard swim, 2-mile bike, and ½-mile run.
Alex Thurston was 3rd in the 10-11 age group, while his sister, Bella, won the 8-9 age group and Maddie Rankin won the 10-11 age group.
Alex Thurston was 12th overall at 12:27 and his bike time of 6:33 was 8th fastest of the day. Bella Thurston finished the race in 13:56 and recorded her age group’s fastest bike time at 7:34. Rankin posted a 13:27 and had the fastest swim and bike times in her division.
Lexi Rankin and Addison Donahue each finished 3rd in their age groups. Rankin finished in 14:55 with the 2nd fastest swim and run times in the 8-9 age group, while Donahue came in at 17:30 in the 5-7 age group.
Ainsley Matthews finished in 14:16 and the fastest swim and bike times in the 12-13 age group. Elizabeth Thurston was 4th in 5-7 with a time of 17:43, and Sophia Donahue, competing in 8-9, finished in 24:01.
