
HUDSON, IL – Jason Huber finished 11th overall and six other Reapers medaled at Tri-Shark here Saturday.
Huber completed the course (600-yard swim, 13-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) in 1:08:20 to win the 40-44 age group, place 10th among men, and 11th overall. Kevin Tuuk was close behind, finishing at 1:09:14 to place 14th overall and 2nd in the 45-49 age group. Tuuk’s run split of 19:54 was 4th overall.
GRF collected two first-place finishes in the youth age groups as Isaac Goughnour and Ainsley Matthews, all won their age groups. Goughnour posted the day’s 3rd-best swim at 8:33 en route to a time of 1:14:59 and a win in 15-19. Matthews won 13-15 with a time of 1:30:53, while Riley Cate placed 3rd in 13-15 at 1:50:39.
Other Reapers garnering top-3 finishes were: Tim Auth at 1:19:32 to place 2nd in Clydesdale; Christine Kachelmuss at 1:20:10 to take 2nd in 30-34.
Rick Vincent earned the dreaded 4th-place position (40-44), despite finishing at 1:12:09 for 29th overall.
Glenn Tuuk finished the race despite having to walk the run portion due to a torn meniscus. Tuuk still finished in 1:57:27.
