
PETERSBURG – Five Reapers took 1st-place finishes at the Stovepipe and Railsplitter Triathlons here Saturday.
Julie Zei, Ainsley Matthews, and Riley Cate won their age groups in the Stovepipe sprint triathlon, while Jay McGee and Christine Kachlemuss won their age groups in the Railsplitter Olympic-distance triathlon.
McGee had the top time of the day, winning the men’s Olypmic (1500-meter swim, 24.8-mile bike, and 6.2-mile run), 30-34 division with a time of 2:29:48, while Kachlelmuss won the women’s 30-34 in 2:57:02.
Zei finished the sprint (500-yard swim, 13-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) in 1:27:18 to take women’s 30-34 in 1:27:18. Matthews won 14-and-under in 1:37:48, while Cate took 15-19 in 1:48:07.
Ami Hileman was 2nd in women’s 55-59 in 1:26:32, while Racheal Chiolero was 3rd in 40-44 at 1:33:18
