
HUDSON, IL – Michael Braun and Jay McGee led a 23-racer GRF contingent with top-10 overall finishes, while Annie McGee was the 2nd overall female finisher at the Tri-Shark Triathlon here Saturday.
Braun was 6th overall en route to winning the 20-24 age group with a time of 1:06:18. Braun’s swim time of 8:52 was 4th best of the day. Jay McGee finished 9th overall and won the 35-39 division in 1:07:33, while his run time of 19:46 was 4th best on the day. Annie McGee was the 2nd female with a time of 1:13:26, highlighted by a run time of 22:06.
The 27th running of the event consisted of a 600-yard swim, 13-mile bike leg, and 3.1-mile run.
Isaac Goughnour and Ainsley Matthews also took 1st place in their age groups. Goughnor posted the day’s best swim time at 8:20 en route to an overall time of 1:12:52 to top the 16-17 group. Matthews finished in 1:37:48 to win the women’s 13-15 division.
Other medalists included Christine Kachelmuss, who was 2nd in 30-34 with a time of 1:21:01; Kevin Tuuk, 3rd in 45-49 at 1:16:20; and Tim Auth, 3rd in Clydesdale at 1:22:04. Father-daughter combination David and Riley Cate each garnered 4th-place finishes. David was 4th in Clydesdale at 1:23:28 and Riley was 4th in 16-17 at 1:41:16.

Chris Cunningham completed the duathlon (2-mile run, 13-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) in 1:39:07.
