
CHICAGO – Four Grim Reaper Fitness athletes joined 40,000 other runners in competing in the 44th Bank of America Chicago Marathon Sunday.
Matt Lawson posted the lowest time, finishing the 26-mile race in 3:55:53, a 9:11-per-mile pace. Lawson was very consistent – his splits for the first 13 miles and the second half were only 5 seconds apart!
Julie Howell was next for the Reapers, finishing in 4:11:25, a 10:11 pace. Christine Kachelmuss came in at 4:37:50, a 10:11 pace. Julie Zei ended at 5:11:12, a 13:11 pace in her first marathon.
To put some perspective around the size of the field, Lawson finished in 1,730th place in his age group, 9,297th among men, and 3rd among runners with the surname Lawson.
